Hey Guys, I wanted to drop in and say hello from South Georgia. Here's a little sample of some of my work.

Hey dmedd: I was gonna say that's a nice piece of Keokuk in that first pic, then I looked at that second one and looked like some perd in there and other things, then holy moley - look at the knives, and that other display! Holy flying flakes - you've been at this awhile. Nice works!!

Thanks guys. It's definitely an addiction. I've got some cane arrows made up and I'm just waiting on some feathers to fletch them with. I'm supposed to be getting an osage longbow in a few weeks also. One of my friends builds them. I can't wait to get into that also. This will be my first primitive bow.

Good stuff like it all.  I can agree that its addicting I make bows knap and make arrows I dream about it and cant get enough.  I want to make an ATLATL next.  Hey anyone have plans to make one???  Anyway Nice work.

Thanks guys, I'm glad I found this site. There's a lot of good info here.  I would love to make an atlatl myself. 8)

I'm down in Douglas GA. I'm about an hour north of Valdosta and 45 minutes West of Waycross.

Hey Paul, I'm about 2 1/2 hours from you but I'm always willing to share what little bit I know. It really helps to sit down with an experienced knapper and watch and ask questions. Videos and books are a great help but there's nothing like hands on training. The biggest thing that helped me was learning to isolate my platforms. I started out trying to hit continuos platforms and the flakes just were'nt traveling far enough for me. I was ending up with narrow, fat points. I still can't get them thin as a cracker but I can get them as thin as the prehistoric people did, and thinner.
