My guess would be a Corsican Ram, and Ewes. ;)  I imagine they would tend to smell a bit, but after tanning, and sunning, should be fine for clothing, seat covers, bed pads, etc. . :)

They are Corsican, a cross between muflon and woolies. Most of the hairy sheep fall into the corsican family. Those look like they have been crossed with the woolies recently. They have 1 lamb twice a year while woolies have 2 once a year so it has been an experiment lately to see if they could get 2 lambs twice a year. That is why the wool is showing through on their backs.
Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you made a bad decision.

El D, I shot a ewe like that on a ranch down by San Antonio a couple years ago.  It was decent eating, though I'm biased against it as I don't go for mutton much.  The kids loved it and I gave most of it to them.  Not sure what a ram would be like.  We did make some gyro meat out of it and I thought it was very good.

I had a trophy wall at the last house.  If I can find one of the pictures of it I'll post it, but the horns aren't that impressive.  I shoot what comes by, and the big ones must send the small ones ahead of them it seems.  Hard for me to wait.

I think that Gyros ( gee-rows) are some of the best eating Sandwiches I have ever eaten.... I can tell you one thing.... if I get a shot... I'll be eating Mutton..

Yea, gyros taste great, I usually have them grill the onions though.  I'm not sure where Laura got the gyro recipe from.  Had to cook ground sheep meat like a meat loaf and then set a brick on top of it to get it really dense.  Good luck and take pictures.

El D, you can have my share of the Mutton.  Seems like they are wild, since their tails aren't docked.
I will take the hides though...... ;)

Wayne...I dislike Mutton by itself too...but cooked in a Gyro...with the Cucumber/Yogurt Sauce....it's really good...but then again..it's not all Mutton either...the Mutton Loaf is a compressed Meat Loaf of 50/50 ...Mutton/Burger
