Deer brats for supper,Jesse decided the hide wasn't dark enough so we made up some walnut die, worked great,he done a couple and after rinsesing a couple of time after the dieing they looked great.
We just crushed up the old walnuts and boiled them for about and hour and
drained off the die.

Supper,Some of BearG's arrow,JohnT points for the weekend and Keith's nice 8 point with a Hickory stick. All he got to save was the head, the Yots got to it first, them critters are hungry this time of year. Hope everyone had as good a time as I did, even being sick it was still a great week.Life is good

We had a blast. Glad Keith found his deer. I will post my pics tonight. I came home and I think I brought the cold Pappy has with me. It was one of the most educational trips down ever leaning how to take a hide from deer all the way to stained braintan. JohnT. taught me alot about cain straighting. And learned that a case a day just ain't enough.

Had a great time, Pappy!. Those turkey nuggets Bear made are still making my mouth water. Thought sure you or Dave would have killed Muy... but hey, the seasons just really cranking. Hope you get over that hack soon.
Way to go, Jesse! Where you in the right area?

Man, sure am hungry now, I don't think the Oodles of Noodles, with an egg stirred in it, will suffice now. Looks like one heck of a great time.

Ok now I'm home sick and wishing I was back there again.
Looks like some awesome times as always. I have an elk hide that our farrier gave me and trying to pick a good day between snow storms to work on it.
You guys make it look so easy and the last elk hide that I did about killed me
Maybe I can trick Dave C into working on it with me
Pappy My mouth is watering just lookin at those pics.

I called Pappy Friday evening and the crew was there hooting and hollering in the background. Man was I homesick!!! I'm hunting and having fun but I miss the crew and friendship. I hope this assignment deal works out and I can get back next year. Congrats on a great week fellas.
