Pappy, I'm glad things are looking up.  Keep moving forward Miss Joanie.  Congrats to the boys.  That's a great looking family Big A.  I sure miss your stories about your Daddy and the sailors.  Good times.

Thanks guys, yes Glenn she is feeling better and stronger every day. I will tell big A , maybe you can get back down here someday. ;) :) The boys were very happy and seemed to really appreciate me letting them do this every year, , 1 only has 1 more year and the youngest has about 4 more years, hopefully I have 3 more coming up with my grand kids so can carry this on for several more years, I really enjoy watching them get their first and watching the progress as they get more experience.  :)

Glad to hear that Miss Joannie is doing so much better and made it back home. She's a strong woman.
And congratulations to the young men, good looking bucks!

Good couple of days at the cabin, We had a good friend come and stay with Miss Joanie so I could get away for a couple of day, felt good to be back doing what I love to do, Ha a tree fall with all the rain and wind we had , I am doing a lot of timbering on the place and this is why, having big trees go down all the time. It will look a little different when you come visit and I hate the mess , but has to be done. After the clean up I got on some hides that have been in waiting and also got in a little hunting.  :) the tree and clean up. :)

The clean up, once the timber guy gets to it and that will be soon I plan on taking out 10 or 12 more trees right around the pavilion and kitchen area, like I said it will look different but it's not a matter of if it is a matter of when they are going to come down so has to be done. Stresses me and makes me sad to tear up my pretty woods that is for sure.  :( Once the clean up was done I got on a hide , got it fleshed and in the rack, # 1 for the year. Got another in waiting.  :)

Then a nice fire Thursday night and thoughts of getting to finely hunt, Friday morning got my Halloween buck, 10 yards, double lung and top of heart, seen him go down at 40 yards, gets no better than that. 135 lb 7 point.shot with my old faithful Osage built in 2012, spruce arrows with turkey feathers and Ace 160 head. Kept my streak going, been 45 years since the last time I didn't get at least 1 deer with my bow. Been a tough year for Miss Joanie and me but this help just a little. :) ;)

A critter's options are greatly limited once you let the air out of both lungs. Knowing it went quickly sure helps, doesn't it?
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
