He looks big enough to show him plenty of respect I'd say! :)

I'm going to throw a guess out there and say around 400# give or take 50.  We never had bears around this area in Pa until just a few of years ago. Now it seems they are showing up around here more and more.

Cool picture Ryan, and nice to know they are around. Nothing really to compare him to and he looks big, but I doubt he is in the 400# class. 400# is a big black bear. A huge bear will have a fat head and his ears will apear small on his head.  Would you have any chance of getting a tag to be able to hunt him? Sure is black and pretty.  I did not get a tag  this year, they sell the archery tags here on a first come first served basis on some day in July, I spaced it off till noon and they sold out at by about 9:00 oclock. I am still mad, and with them terrorizing my elk camp to boot. Again cool picture.   Kenneth

Kenneth, we grow them XXL in PA. The state record black bear is over 800# This guys actually about middle of the road. I can buy a bear tag over the counter hear but I never have its only a three day gun season here and a 2 day archery season during the middle of the week. No dogs or baits. It just ain't worth it, not yet anyways. Maybe if they continue to get more densely populated or they eventualy change the laws a bit.

I would have to say he's a youngun, ears look really big and not very wide in the back side, I would say 200-250#.....

Nice Bear Ryan...but 400....I am not to sure of that...His Ears are way long and His Head is quite Pointy still to have that much weight on Him....but none the Less....He is a nice specimen of an Eastern Black Bear!
