New Arras for Deer Season (pics)
« on: August 20, 2009, 08:03:09 pm »
Here are some new arras I made for the upcoming hunting season.  Nothing too fancy, just functional.  The shafts are some Tonkin that I got from David Knight.  Fletched with Turkey and Goose feathers that I hand ground (someday I'll get one of those drum sander setups. ;)) Feathers and nocks are tied with some whitetail backstrap sinew supplied by DanaM.  Dyed with Bl. Walnut dye, painted with some prim. pigments (acrylic base) and sealed with Waterlox.   Thanks for looking.

Very nice, Rick. That Tonkin is nice stuff and you transformed it into beautiful function.  8)
