This is another new bow I just finished up recently. Very basic. I made it for a friend, but he found it too heavy, so I'll have to make him something else a little lighter.

Maple backed osage, 45#@28", 72 NTN, osage tip overlays, Strunk style grip. The bow is very narrow, only 1 1/8" at the grip, with 1/2'' tips. Virtually no set... maybe 1/2".

Very sweet looking bow! Great job on those tips! If I were your friend I think I'd have had to build up to that weight in order to keep the bow! ;)

Hey, Piper,

I used good old TB3. Nothing fancy. The maple backing strip is 3/16" (I like to use a bit thicker backing with maple). Wrapped it up with inner tubes.

The guy just wanted a very basic longbow, and bye the way, he did order 40-45#, but discovered he couldn't pull it. The next one is going to be 35#, and if that's too light, he's off the preferred nation status.

That's what I said, too!! I don't really want to build the guy another bow, as I have a million other things to finish up. Especially since 45# was what he ordered.
