Congratulations to Ryan Gill of Spring Hill, Florida
His Very Well Made Osage Recurve is Voted October Self Bow of the Month
This is a dandy recurve. If you want to make one, read Ryan's narrative here:Ok, I finished this a little over a week ago and just haven't had time to post pictures but here it is now.
its 62" and 72# @ 26 inches. really casts an arrow hard, hoping to hunt elk with it next year.
the tips are IPE and buffalo horn overlays and the grip is deer hide I dyed with my homemade black walnut stain. I used steam to make the recurves. I'm not convinced they are really perfect but I am happy with them and its shoots well so I'll deal with them.
These comments are notable:-"I don't see anything wrong with the recurves. Very nice bow." Okie1
-"Wow !! looks good to me.." knightd
-"very nice lines. love that FD pic." Dustybaer
-"Very impressive work you have been doing. Good Job! Steve" Badger
-"That's a real beauty! Those curves and the tiller look great. I hope you get an elk with it." Woodland Roamer
