Ash bow: bark backing?'s

I'm working on an ash self bow made from a sapling. The bow is turning out a little on the weak side so far. I thought on gluing back on the bark to the bow. Would this help add weight? And should the bark be wet or dry? I was going to use ttb111

that would not add draw weight to the bow, but extra weight to the limbs! you would lose evenmore power!
shortening the bow would help draw weight.

It would crack and break, and as Frank said, add weight with no benefit.
