I had to make a bow for a swap at "Pirates of archery", after a couple of failures and no more dry staves, I had to get one of my old bows down from the rack.
I needed to make a bow with a 29" draw, so I took down the only 68" Guava I have, ..that was worthy
Whe I finished this bow over a year and a half ago, the scale said 63 # @ 27", since then I got a few HILLs and I was able to calibrate her,she was 5 # off, having moved to a much dryer area the bow gained some pounds too.
when i took her down from the rack she was showing 70 # @ 27", so all in all I had to get about 15 # off, noticed a few things that didn't look good, (looked good then, not now
) and basically retillered totally to accomodate a 29" draw
she came out really good, I wouldn't want to be on the reciving end of an heavy arrow loosed by this bow.
Braced looks quite funky, but you see she comes around at full draw
68" ntn, 60# @ 29", assymetrical limbs, Guava overlays, Hemp grip wrap, zebra hide rest and plate, homemade finish, ho yeah, since jared is a glass shooter I added some leather on back and belly at the handle, didn't wanna give him a bow with to small of an handle, the transition would have being eben harder then
