"Motel Bow" almost finished
« on: August 27, 2008, 12:38:28 am »
I just put the first coat of Linseed oil on my new bow.  A few more coats, and then I'll get a handle on it.

Not perfect, but I'm happy with my first osage bow.  (I've made a couple red oak board bows and some kids bows)

Right now it's pulling 55lbs I was hoping for 60, and I haven't shot it too much yet.

It's 54 inches from nock to nock, 55" total.

Most important, I like the way it shoots.

Here are a few photos.  (It's hard to photograph a bow!!)  I'm a little worried about the limb with all the "character"

That is sweet! Nice tiller and good overall primitive look to it. Love the knots and character.

That did turn out nice having being built in a hotel room - I gotta give that some serious consideration :). Good job..

That's a great looking little bow-looks like you handled the character and knots really well, shouldn't have any problems-osage is really tough stuff as long as you stay with the grain.
