Rhyolite Point
« on: July 21, 2008, 10:10:37 pm »
I finally got a chance to knap a little for the first time this summer and here is a little Woodland triangle point from a flake of rhyolite. It's 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long and turned out really sharp. I'm going to haft it to a piece of cane and try to stick it thru a deer this fall.

Looks good man! That'll stick a deer for sure :). Check the laws in your state concerning barbs on a hunting point, anything angled back more than ninety degrees off the side or base is considered a barb.
When you come upon a track or trail you do not know, follow it to the point of knowing.

Thanks for that info Paul.  I'm pretty sure Oklahoma doesn't have that restriction but I'll dang sure check before I get some done up.

Nice point ,Alan. I'd like to have a set of those. When it comes to those rules I figure, once the deer is dead the rule shouldn't count anymore. ;D
