rabbit bow
« on: June 30, 2008, 11:58:23 am »
It has been some time since I've posted a completed bow, this one I've had done since spring, as it was my spring project. This a simple red oak board bow, loosely based on a eastern woodland indian design since my first attempt at it failed miserably. Its 65" 60# @ 27". It has a nice smooth draw to it and its one of the fastest I have made. I have already taken two rabbits with it now that I am once again able to shoot straght.

Welcome back to the clan, Andrew. 8)  Your bow building has improved considerably of the last few years...and you have grown taller...and apparently stronger, 60# :o     You've made a very nice, well tillered bow here and its a good example to the new guys of what can be done with a red oak board.
...and it is already a proven hunting bow!!! 8)   Well done!    Thanks for posting.     Pat

Nothing wrong with a short draw, or bad form, so of us old farts got it bad ;D. What counts is your enthusiasm.
