Primitive hunting partners. A good day of shooting.
« on: June 13, 2008, 07:28:47 pm »
I had to share this pic with you all. I met up with my brothers who are my hunting partners for a good day of shooting on Tuesday here in michigan. This picture shows us all with our hunting bows (All made by me). All primitive weapons and such a joy to share with others.

I am on the left with the Achumawi replica Yew and Sinew west coast style.
My brother Ben is on the right with his black locust long bow
My brother Joe is on the logs in the middle with and ash D bow.

Making bows is just a great fantastic thing to do. But when you see a bunch of your hand made weapons being put to use on a range and at stumps as well as harvesting game its just the best feeling. Good family times.

Please feel free to share this thred and show your hunting partners putting your bows to good use.

That's great that all of you guys have the same interest and get to spend time together like that. That's what it's all about! Nice bows too.

Nice picture Steve!
Here's one taken at our club at one of the regular 3D shoots. Me with my black locust bow, and Molly on my back. Jim Sudal to the right of me shooting one of my brothers bamboo backed osage bows. Harry Clark to the right of Jim shooting a osage longbow I made. Jared Northrop to the left of me shooting a fg recurve, he's the odd man out in this picture...lol. He has a hickory backed osage long bow I made and a osage selfbow I helped him make but he wasn't shooting either on this day.

Ryan, to bad Molly isn't old enough to carry your arrows. Nothing like a quiver that hands the arrows to you. ;D
