Thanks everyone. After shooting 50 arrows through it yesterday with no noticeable change I finished sanding it down with 220 grit paper and put the first coat of Tru Oil on it. So far it took 7/8” set on the upper limb, and 5/8” on the lower limb. Considering a couple little humps in the outer 1/3 of the upper limb I’m very pleased with that amount of set. Hopefully it will maintain close to that for a long life. The upper limb is the one that had the dogleg in it.

My idea of a perfect self bow. A stick and a bare string. Great work.
