White Walnut Branch Bow

Found some Folks Fixing A house down the Road and saw that they had Cut some Small White walnut Trees. I took my Time caring up the Hill on my Bike to get These Staves home. It took a Couple of Months to Get the Wood Dry so I could Start Tillering. Finally, I got to Learn how to Hollow tiller this Small Crowned Branch Stave. I decided to have this Bow at two Draw weights.  The Bow is 72 " 32#@27" and 43#@ 27". I did put double nocks on each limb. I wrapped the Grip ends with Dogbane and the Grip with recycled Belt leather. It was fun Learning how to Hollow Tiller a High Crowned Bow. Have a great Year Folks..

Wow. Looks great.  Can’t see much set there at all.  You did well to limit set on this style of bow build.  Very nice.

PS interesting idea how you made it two different draw weight by adding two different sets of knocks. Do you have two different strings ?

Thanks Super Dave, While drying the Stave it induced a lot of reflex,. I steamed some of it out then Attached the Rawhide. I did add a Rawhide Backing.
bjrogg, I use only one string but have to remove from each nock to remove the String. I wish We could add larger file size to show details.

Great results with an almost unknown bow wood. The unbraced pics says you did it right.

Excellent tiller!
I am more than a little concerned about breakage  when the string is on the 32# upper nocks.

Thanks Pappy, Pat I think if I hollow out the Belly the same as the Back Radius this wood is Good. Super, I will Check that  Flickr out.
