B-55 question

I’ve been making my bowstrings with 40 lb braided fishing line. While it works great my local store doesn’t always have suitable colors in stock.
I’m gonna order some B-55
Question
How many strands do you use and what size serving do you use?

For my 35# 60 inch AMOL recurve I ordered a B55 string with 12 strands. Its been on the bow for some time and hundreds of arrows down range with no problems.
A bow with heavier draw weight would probably require 14 strands or more.

I once made a string for a 40-45 lb Black Fox 54 in AMOL from dental floss with the same material used for the servings. It held up fine for years. I only replaced it because I found the proper OEM string at the LGS.

10 strands of B55 works fine up to, and including 55lbs.. Your braid line sits between D97, and B55 performance wise. I use a double serving of B55, but that all depends on your arrow nock size.

I use 14 strands for 45# and up. Below 45# I use 12 strands. I know other folks that use less, like bassman with good results.
