Hazel longbow 60#@30"
« on: August 01, 2021, 12:00:06 pm »
Hi guys!

It's been some time since my last activity here. I've finally managed to finish new bow. It's a hazel longbow. It's around 71" ntn drawing 60lbs at 30". The stave was seasoned for 2 years. For nocks I used cow horns. I burned a dot on arrow pass and named the bow "Mary" as  a tribute for Mary Rose findings. The bow took 2" of set. I love the simplicity of a longbow combined with full horn nocks. At some spots chrysals appeared but luckily not many of them.

I've made a build along video. You can find it here:

All the best guys!

Nice bow!
Hard to tell but maybe a bit more bend on upper limb from midlimb outward?

Thank you Del and medicinewheel. It got slight recurve and wiggle on upper limb so the till is not fully symetrical
