That little wiggle will add some nice character to that piece of hickory.

Had our 1 day of sun in these parts a few days ago so dont expect any shadows till March :) But been working on a piece of hickory myself. 62"ttt nice straight grained a little natural deflex/reflex in limbs but a bit of twist to one limb. Have it to 16" on a tight string so far. need to sharpen my scrapers up before I continue. Been going rather smooth so far...time will tell.

The shorter stave is 49", hickory, seasoned about  8 months.
The longer bow is from same tree, and is 57.5 ".  The longer stave is with two layers sinew, with third course down middle. 1 and 3/8" wide, pulling 46# at 26". I like how the longer bow handles and shoots.

Conflicted about making a short bow out of short stave, or doing glued-on static tips. If I go short-route, will make the draw weight quite heavier. I put in for elk this year.....

I have some short sinew bows, that are 50 to 60# and they have good cast for elk, and heavier arrow,, dog wood shafts are heavy even at 24 inches,, those look great,,
ok just thinking out loud, could you put more sinew on the longer bow,, get into the 50's with it for elk,,
the shorter bow with slight recurves or glued on recurves would make the 26 inch draw,, probley go the 26 bend in handle with very small overlays recurved so the string wont come off,,
definitly gonna go 26 if you extend the length with static tips,, seems like you got lot of options, I will be putting in for elk too,,
or if you make the shorter one heavier,, 25 inch draw might be ok too,,
