Measuring reflex

I have been bending the reflex into my bows one limb at a time. The problem with this is determining the reflex when making the caul. Imagine holding one half of a take down bow. How would you measure the reflex? Especially when there is deflex in the handle so you can't put a straight edge on it.

I do what Pat said, lay the bow on a board, or ply wood, and trace the outline on it.
