Syringa bow 58# 29"

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum, but I've been reading a lot of inspiring information here for a long time.
I've made quite a few bows already, and now I want to show one of them.
This bow is made from a thin lilac trunk (about 4 centimeters thick). Bow length 170 centimeters (67 ") with 58 lb draw and 29" draw.
Finish in Danish oil.
Lilac is an amazingly dense wood. The thickness of the limb at the handle is 15 mm and decreases to 11-10 mm at the tips. The width of the limb at the handle is 35 mm and decreases to 16 mm at the tips.
The weight of this bow is 593 grams.

I have not quite figured out the forum yet, and posted links to google photos.
Perhaps it will be seen now?

Pics seem to be working now. I couldn’t see them yesterday either. Those are some really tricky rollercoasters! Great looking bow Victor

You did a very fine job with that stave.

Looks like you managed all those characters well.
Thank you for uploading those pics again.
I have a lilac sapling, should be dry now...seeing your bow I had to look after it.
Some twist and a rollercoaster as well, can you tell me how lilac bends with steam or dry heat?

Thanks for the feedback!
The biggest challenge is to dry the lilacs without cracking. In dry weather, cracks may appear a few minutes after you cut the trunk)
Unfortunately I can't say anything about how the lilacs react to dry heat or steam, I haven't used that on this bow.
But I think the use of steam can be risky because after getting some moisture and then drying again, the lilac wood can crack. Although, this is just my guess.

Lots of character in that piece. Looks like a real good tiller to me. Nice bow!

Now that's a wonky bow. Well done.
