Introduction, thank you, and some of my work
« on: September 14, 2020, 10:14:32 am »
Hello everyone. I just wanted to jump on and give you all a big THANK YOU. I’ve lurked in the shadows of this forum for many years, and you guys’ works and vast knowledge have been an invaluable resource in my journey.

My name is Correy and I’ve been making unbacked selfbows for going on 8 years. I started with hickory and red oak board bows and moved into staves after about a year of board bows. I was working full time and crafting bows in the evenings for 6 years before starting the company Organic Archery, quitting my job and going full time. I’ve been building full time for nearly two full years now and still use the archives of the forum anytime I’m stuck on a particularly difficult stave or obstacle.

Because of time limitations, I probably won’t become a regular participant in discussions, but had to let you all know that I can’t describe how thankful I am to have access to this community. Wishing you all the best in life and pursuits.

Here’s a little of my work.

I wish I could figure out how to make the image quality better, but it’s making me downsize all my pictures to the smallest size.

Nice work and welcome. Better image quality is easy - use a third party hosting site and link to the pictures there. The tiny pictures allowed on the site are a long running issue and it is best to just sidestep it completely. I use Imgur and have no issues with it.

Welcome to PA. I know we all get busy. Myself included. I do hope you can spend a little time on the site. It gets a little slow around here when we run out of people who post their stuff. Hope to see more of yours in the near future.

Welcome to PA, organic archer. Looks like you are a good learner. Nice bows, arrows, quivers and knapped points.

You are a phenomenal craftsman, and you have a well rounded talent across the scale of bows to arrows to stone points to photography. Please, post as often as possible.

hey, Correy! Welcome to PA. Your work is top notch and will fit right in here. Check out my Bow Photography post at the top of the page. I recommend using imgur to host your photos. it's an extra step but well worth the effort. let me know if you have trouble. Get some of those bows in the Bow of the Month contest!
