Nice find

Since feathers are kind of scarce, im happy with all the road kills or Fox/ Hunter kills. This blues heron is a Nice find, i think Fishers killed It.

You may not be ok to have them . It is usually illegal to have feathers of protected species.

Looks nice, but are useless for arrows (too weak).

could the long and low profile commonly seen on Native American arrows been an adaptation for "weaker" feathers?

If i could only dephend ons Goose feathers then i gotta ductape the rest, i even use pigeon feathers at the moment. As for the long and low profile, i used the off side (smaller side) of a Goose primary and used Them almost full lengt, that Arrow flyed pretty good

Those look just as weak as goose feathers and goose feathers is all I use.  They work great.

Yes, I mean the 'hairs' - the quill is tough.
There is a big difference between goose and heron feathers!

Found some crow  feathers once and made some fletching,  I'll tell ya they flew like the dickens and made a singing snarly sort of sound thru the air.   Flew straight though.
