New knife

Jesse mad this blade the other week,he said it wasn't big enough for a knife ,but to me it is prefect.I mounted it in a deer leg bone,we save all of them each year, they make some pretty cool handles for knifes and tools. :) It is out of some of the rock Knothead brought down for the Classic.

Looks just fine to me pappy, plenty big to clean a deer.

Sweet knife Pappy.  I've got a bone like that waiting to be a handle, just soon as I can knap a nice blade like that.

That would look pretty cool in a knife pocket on a back quiver. ;)

Nice little knife, Pappy. Like you said, just the right size. I found a piece of deer leg bone that is 4 3/8" long in a pile of coyote scat :o...ouch! I'll bring it to the classic and get someone to make a blade for it.  I wonder what kinda medicine can pass through a coyote's gut? ;)      Pat

Pappy:  I hate to ask a question that's probably been covered several times in the past, but how do you clean and prepare the deer bones?

I've got eight legs still in my freezer and I'd like to start doing something with them rather than just taking up space.   :(

I just clean off all the meat I can and put them up,for a year or 2 out side under cover,I keep
them every year so I usually have some that are ready,I guess you could boil them hard like we do
skull caps sometime. :)

Nice knife Pappy! We all know that it don't take no Bowie to skin a deer ;D.
