For anyone looking to buy a new band saw
« on: June 02, 2019, 11:48:12 am »
Just wanted to put this out there for anyone who may be looking to buy a new band saw . few months back I finally bought my first big boy saw . had plenty of saws with only a 6 inch resaw capacity and every one of them I just always felt never had what I needed . was looking at the grizzly saws but it bothered me not be able to see it in person without traveling to Missouri . I ended up getting a rikon 10326.  it's got a one and three quarter horse with a 13 and a half resaw capacity . all the guides are tool less adjustments and extremely user-friendly.  I've resawed a 12 inch piece of Oak with no problem.   today was the first time I pushed it hard cutting up all my questionable wood to see what's good . Biggest thing I ran today is a 6 inch piece of Osage and with a two teeth per inch three-quarter inch Rip blade it did not struggle one bit . I also wanted a saw with a dual voltage motor  because I have access  to 220 in my shop  .  have yet to change it over still running in 110. More than ok  in 110 if thats all you have. figured I'd just give you guys a little review in case any of you are looking

Sweet toy Paul.  Like Bill said, I'll be expecting to see a lot of bow pictures now.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

That is quite a pile of knife scales and tool handles!  My new throwing hawk would look neat with an Osage handle!  Want to trade for a ready made hickory handle? >:D. And a few pieces to make into scales?  Nice saw - I don't think the Little Fiddle Woman will let me have a new one!  Or eve a high priced used one for that matter!  No room in the garage! >:D (lol) (lol)

Putting it on wheels . . . smart feller.
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857
