covering sinew with birch bark

I am about to tiller a yew/sinew short bow.  I messed up the sinewing process and the sinew is wrinkly. I want to cover the sinew with birch bark and I have a number of questions.  First off, do  I need to smooth off the sinew and should I do this before I tiller - I am guessing its a yes to both those questions. Once the bow is tillered, how do I go about covering it - any good build-alongs on PA or on tinternet ?

Yes, you need to smooth it out.  Applying birchbark is just like any other soft backing material.    Don't overthink it.

Did you use hide glue for the sinew? If so I would use hide for the birch bark. TB would work well too but hide glue has "suck" that helps to bring the bark covering down on the sinew. I'd also use a very thin layer of bark with the inside(tan) out.
