Congratulations Arvin!  :OK
So, is the ambient humidity, or lack of it, a factor in the distance that an arrow will fly..?
Just thinking about how "thick" that air was down at the field at Mojam.  ;)

I don't really think the elevation or air made any real difference. We both shot the same bows we did at mojam. My mojam distance was further than my Utah distance and Arvins got a little more out of his at Utah.

I may go back to Utah one more year just to keep Arvin on his toes.

Interesting that elevation or humidity don't seem to be much of a factor...

Guess it's the Bow, Arrow and Archer after all.  :)

Where the humidity got me was my bows gained a couple of pounds as they dried out. I didn't have time to scrape down the 2# so at the last minute I just overdrew the bows enough to crush out 2#. It really has dramatic effects on performance when you do that. This is the fun of having good competition, you have to look at every mistake and make sure you don't repeat it.

Congrats to Arvin (Selfbowman) on a job well done. I did enjoy seeing the pictures of the bow and learning the details.

Paul - I'm with you, I thought the humidity of Central Mo in summer would have slowed the arrow down. Well, Steve should know, he's shot at both places.

Guess I'll have to mosey on down the hill next year at MoJAM and try that flight shoot.

Ah, till next year..

Congrats Arvin - too cool!
I would like to be part of that party some day ..., flight shooting isn't that common here in Germany.

Simon England is not that far . The British are all over flight shooting. Had a couple folks do real well at the salt flats this year. And some from hungry also. Your bows would do real good I am sure.

Simpson, you could get a group started yourself. We would help you. Germans would love this sort of thing once they were introduced to it. Except for the part about it not being very practical LOL>

Way to go Arvin!! You definitely build a great bow, the one I got from you a few years ago is still the most accurate stickbow I have ever shot.

Here is some high speed video of one of Arvin’s 50# Broadhead Flight shots.  Watch in full screen mode.  I think it is pretty cool watching that arrow disappear!

Oooooeeeeee! Even in slow motion that arrow is gone baby!
