My first osage bow is done!
« on: August 11, 2018, 09:15:36 am »
Here is my first osage bow. It's a little bendy handle. Its 55"ttt about 55lbs at 25". Its a down and dirty bow. Not the smoothest and not the best tillered but it shoots pretty hard. It also has on it my first made sinew bow string. I'm hoping to kill a deer with it this year!
Let me know what you think

Very nice bend on your first osage bow. Well done on it and the sinew string. Good for you for passing it on.  8)   :OK

I kept the bottom limb a little stiffer on purpose. Do you think it is too stiff?

Looks great!
You must have made another bow or 2 that weren't osage cause that is really nice.
Thanks

Congratulations!  Looks good.  Seems like a shorter, lighter bow will be in order soon, too.  And maybe a shorter dart (AT).

 Jake,
Beautiful pure simplicity...That looks like a little workhorse man...I have a real soft spot for a bendy...I wish you a wonderful hunting season...

Nice job on that little bow! I really love the bare bones simplicity and utility of that type bow. I reckon that type of bow has been made since the beginning and will be made as long as there are people making wood bows.
