how far would you trust this knot?

Penderbender sent me this yew stave for Christmas a while back, and I have been itching to get to it--now my other obligations in bowmaking are behind me, and the yew is up.  I am running 70 inches on this stave, and this knot is about 16" from the bottom tip, so right in the middle of the bending zone.  How stiff would you say I need to leave this section?   there appears to be a dimple on either side running about 3".  My thoughts are to leave those three inches stiffer--but I am afraid of hinging on either side of the stiff spot.  I would love the input of the more experienced yew bowyers.  I have only done one other yew stave, and it was as perfect as I could imagine, with no tricky spots.

The knot looks darker because I just hit it with thin super glue.

Is it just one knot Jeff? Or a cluster of pins? What's the belly look like? From those pics it looks fine, I wouldn't worry too much about the concave bit on the back. I get that with yew all the time, if you want you can always thin the sap a bit on the high edges. Cheers- Brendan
