lilac any good for arrows?

hey guys i have a classic lilac in the back yard that is badly overgrown and needs cut back.
i know to be on the lookout for bow staves but is it any good for arrow shafts

I've never tried lilac but if the shoots are appropriate size give them a try.

I made some. They were very pretty-really white woods and glassy smooth-byt really heavy for the spine, and had a tendency to lose all their straightness after every shot
