Handle Help

Does anyone have any advise on how to craft a decent looking handle?  I would like to make one like the ones that Dean Torges makes, rounded, I've even tried tracing my fiberglass bow's handle and they just end up looking like a cross-eyed rabid beaver got left alone with my beautiful bow. ???

I picked up a drum sander for my drill at Lowes last night and that seems to be better.  So problem solved.
