There are two shims filing gaps in the inlet, somehow my toe plate moved while I was outlining it. I used a Torges scraper to cut some walnut shavings and inserted them with superglue, done right they are invisible.

Looks great Eric. Your incised lines look very well executed....did you do them freehand or do you have a too made for the task>
What finish did you use on the stock and what did you use on the iron components?
Again, lovely job.

Real nice work!  Far above my capability at present.  Btw, if you are experiencing mischief from the "little people", you may be able to placate them by leaving a wee nip of potcheen on the work bench, but be sure to turn the lights off! >:D ;)

I drew my incised lines in with a combination of freehand and a ruler, my first cut was several passes with a small V gouge and followed up with a knife edge file.

The metal finish is cold blue. At first I used Oxpho blue but couldn't get good coverage so I used Birchfield Casey Perma Blue. After I got an even darker color I scrubbed it back to gray with a scotch bright pad.

Thanks Eric. I've done it with the v-gouge, now will have to try finishing with the knife edge file.
A Kibler kit is in the near term future here.
