Tried another carving. Way tougher than I thought.

Thought I replied to this one already, guess not. Zuma I gotta agree with Pappy, sure looks like JFK to me. Something I just can't do is faces.

BJ, I did another  one before (profile)
Glis, I rough out with a diamond disc grinder. Then it's mostly
chisels, files abrasive stones and an exacto knife.

Good job! Please be carful with soap stone, green marbles or any granite. Toxic stuff. Limestone is much friendlier and is my first choice. Stone carving is what I do for a living. John

Great resemblance there Zuma, JFK honoured for sure. Face on must of been tricky..the side profile carving looks to be challenge enough.  8)

The soap stone I am familiar with comes out of Vermont. It has great insulating properties and has been used on wood burning stoves and fireplace surrounds for years. John
