Proud Grandpa Moment
« on: May 14, 2017, 03:41:48 pm »
My son-in-law was telling me that he was trimming limbs in the yard yesterday.  My oldest granddaughter (who is 6) was with him.  He cut one limb that had a straight section about 2 foot long, and the bark came off, showing the smooth wood underneath.  My granddaughter said "Hey!  Save that one to make a bow with!  Its smooth and straight!"  He told her it was too short to make a bow, but she replied "its not too short.  We can make something with it."

After he told me this I looked at her and she just grinned.  She told me "We can find somebody to use that little bow can't we?"

I gave here a hug and told her we would figure out something to make with it.

Its the biggest smile I have had in a long time.  You gotta love grandkids!

and ya can always send 'em home!
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Never apologize for their truths. It hasn't been contaminated yet.
