Here are some hill cain 40-45, Goose feathers from Thunder. Im not the biggest fan at how the feathers lie.  That is my fault I didn't grind them enough.  black ink dye.

Those may make a little noise when shot. What I do is add a drop of glue or a small piece of fletch tape at the center of each feather to hold them to the shaft.  Other than that they look good. Gotta love hill cane.

Good looking arrows.  Could you thread wrap the feathers to hold them down?

Nice arrows Sasquatch, it is really hard to get them to stay tight to shaft without glue or wrap. If they are spined right for bow they should fly good yet, but like Pat said probably a bit noisy. Still beautiful arrows. What's on the other end? Stone maybe?

Thanks Guys for the complements.   I could wrap, or glue in future.  I cut the feathers 1/2 tall, so the curve in quill pushes them out to normal height.

When you do the next ones wrap the back first and let the wrap dry then a slight wrap around the front and then pull it tight before finishing the forward wrap. That will help the feathers lay a bit flatter to the shaft.

I've also read that you can moisten the feathers a little before attaching them then as they dry they will shrink a little pulling out the slack and laying down better.
