"Bare Bones" - Osage Self Bow 50# @ 28" (Pic Heavy)
« on: December 11, 2016, 05:44:28 pm »
Just a very simple bow that I made recently. I started tinkering with a stave and just couldn't put it down. No frills, no fancy extras. Finished with a paste wax I made myself: ray linseed oil, turpentine, and beeswax. Will try to get a better pic of the tip overlays when the weather cooperates. Some really nice striping to it.

Wow. I love it. Simplicity and beauty.

Nice looking full draw...... were you planning on a gull wing look at the unbraced profile?  JIMO the tips look wide compared to the thickness.

Danzn Bar, it had some slight reflex and I left the tips static to keep the slight curves I put in it. It took a tiny bit of set and ended up with a slight 5 curve look to it. I think the tips look wider than they are from the angle and the narrow overlays.

Not my fastest, but she shoots incredibly smooth and dead quiet. I mean the pluck of the string. :)
