Nice tracks

Was out scouting bean fields this morning found this set of tracks in the hard ground of the sprayer tracks. They like to walk on the packed ground. Hope you can see it ok and notice the normal size tracks along side it

Have you been spraying something special on those beans this year?

Bigger deer no doubt but trying to become proficient in tracking has taught me when they slide in the mud like that they're way smaller in real life. Gotta track it to were it hits harder dirt or stands still. I never trust tracks were the animal slid.

Could be a big deer but most likely a running deer, or double the track. They lots of times will step in there front track with there back and if you look close you will see the second indention about half way. Hope it's a big footed deer with a rack to match. Pappy

Le0n I know they say you can't tell buck tracks from doe track but if that's was a doe that made those it was an awful big one. I'm thinking really nice buck made the big one doe's made the normal size. Cantshoot if there was something special I sprayed on the beans I'd like to know what it was so I could use it again next year. lol. Honestly I've been seeing some fantastic bucks this year.
Tracker these aren't sliding tracks they where walking right down the row every one just like this not sliding to stop or running

You can most def tell it's not a doe, is not running, and has to be a good weight by looking at the crushed dirt it created around the edges, almost looks like he was coming out of a creek bed or something but you said it's in a field. Was the ground still somewhat damp from rain or a dried up puddle? In my limited experience it's hard to tell much difference from a dinker who is just reaching maturity and and a well aged buck. I've checked tracks from deer I see first for quite a while and some 2 and half yr old bucks have really long tracks but idk that one just looks like it has girth to it

It's actually been dry here and this ground is really hard. We did have a real small shower last night nothing in rain gauge but slightly dampen dirt. I'm not sure if anyone can see the normal sized tracks along side. I could be wrong but I think this is a big one, nicest walking track I've ever seen

No matter the print is massive.
Most likely morning dew that softened the ground a bit.
BJ, normal is a difficult description to use when it comes
to things we speculate about. My first thought was a
down hill print. There is little dew claw to sex lol imo.
Something strange about the toe spread on level ground.
It really takes more than ONE track to nail it.
I would plaster the track and do my best to get the foot
that made the track with my bow this season.

The plasters a good idea Zuma and it was more than one track. I followed his tracks they where all just like this one and on flat hard ground. I wouldn't have taken a picture of them if it was just one sliding track in the mud. I've seen lots of deer tracks before just was really impressed by these. I'm amazed how deep in the hard ground they are. We had a sprinkle but it wasn't even a dust settler.

That's definitely a big track.  It's toes splayed out is kind of unusual.  Were they all like that?

Yes Osage they where and all had deep dewclaw impressions I've never seen a walking track like this on solid ground

At least 2 I will try to look again tomorrow and see if all 4

We see them quite often in the Swamp when they are walking in soft or slippery mud. And our deer rarely get over 160#.
