Yew Sapwood Shorty 4'
«

Following the discussion about draw length vs bow length, I made a Yew sapwood shorty just to see what it would do.
It's only about 30# at 28" .
Here's a video of my Son testing it. These short bows were originaly used by the Mongols so they could sweep down from the Steppes in their wheelchairs

Nice little bow there! I have some yew logs with about 1.5" of sapwood waiting to be cut into staves, might try to salvage a stave out of the sapwood too it for a little shooter like that!

That must of been some thick sapwood!
Looks like a fun shooter, can shoot 30# all day

Cheers guys. It's just an experimental fun bow, I'm going to flatten the belly and glue on some this slats of Yew heartwood just to see what it does.

Was fun to watch that lil stick bend so perfectly. And then stop the action and admire tiller.
Then rewind/repeat, rewind/repeat, rewind/repeat.
