Finished these three the past six weeks, two 56"ntn osage and one 58" hhb. I've been on a sort of deflex/reflex kick, these 3 are bendy handle designs. The osage with the red handle is 44# @ 24". osage with green is 50# @ 25" and the hhb is #47 @ 24".
Two of them aren't particularly fast but shoot smooth and accurately for me. The third one with the green tips and handle seems faster and hits the mark but I haven't shot this one beyond my 10 yard target in the shop yet so I need to test it outdoors. It was made for a friend and I want it to be a decent performer for him.
Dry rubbed powdered earth pigments used for the colors, rubbed into the wood and leather with a scrap piece of hide. Used a matte spray finish over the leather to the color from transferring to the hands. I used a little acrylic paint in the scallop notches and at the tips on the hhb bow. Still not real confident on tillering d/r profiles so any tillering critique is welcome.
Thanks for looking
