Broad banded vine maple bow
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:44:11 am »
I just finished up this vine maple bow.  It's just under 63" long and 45 lbs @ 25".  The skins are broad banded water snakes and really pop on the white wood. The tip overlays are big horn sheep from Chuck.  The bow has some humps and bumps.  The reflex isn't even.  The top limb deflexes out of the fade and then reflexes in the outer third.  I think it makes the full draw look a little funky.  The bottom limb has a little bit of twist to it with a slight deflex kink at the tip.  I made this for a target bow for myself.  It's been more than 2.5 years since I made a bow to keep.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Looks great Clint. That bugger is WHITE on the belly.

Awesome job all around Clint.  I love the skins with those sheep horn tips, great combo on the vine maple.

Nice albino osage you have there.  Really, after the first photo, the second side shot where you can really see the white is really a surprise!  It looks great.
