Jeff, I am holding it low because I cut a small arrow rest in just above my hand (1.25" above center). Holding it like that doesn't seem to change how it feels.

David, how far is the arrow rest above your hand in the picture? If you can move your hold up an inch or so I believe it would be better. The way it is your bottom limb is bending more than I'd like to see and by moving your grip up you'll notice a big difference in the tiller. When you hold the bow like a suit case handle in your hand it should balance on the 3 fingers without tipping.

Here's my latest. I'm now at 45@27 which doesn't give me much room for error. I/8" positive tiller.
I'm thinking the outer 1/3's still need some scraping???

Fred, it is literally right above my hand. I don't know why I cut it there. It's only about 3/8 deep. Is there any way I could fill it in with another piece of wood, and then shape the handle like I want? I'd rather shoot off hand, but I thought this might work.. and it didn't.

David, I don't think I'd change it now. Keep it the back of your mind for future reference.

I bet if you put a block of wood on your shelf raising it up some, that the handle wrap might well cover the patch job you are doing and wouldn't be noticeable at all.

one key is good gluing surfaces:  flatten the spot you want to build up, clamp tight, then sand and file down until you have the shape you like.

David...if you are going to wrap the grip they sell cork at hobby lobby.  Or strips of rawhide glued together.  Both can be shaped nicely and conform to round surfaces.

I went out and got the mail today during my lunch and no package on the porch...I am thinking, well it will come eventually.  About 15 minutes later my wife looks out the window and says (I quote)..."now what did you buy?"  I looked out (as I was replying that I did not buy anything) and there is a long tube!  Yes!!!  It is here.  I only had ten minutes before I had to go back to work from lunch, so I tore it opened quick (kind of as it was packed very well).  Nice pretty yellow wood, beautiful black grip, and gorgeous matching black horn tips!   Thank you Dylan!

I just got home and it is too dark to shoot.     Will have to wait until tomorrow when I get home.  Good news is that I should be home by 4:00 or so with plenty of light left to shoot!

Got a pice glued in. Hopefully I can smooth it out tomorrow and re do my handle shape.

Ajooter, I thought about that. I have a bunch of extra cork from a decoy making project I did a while back. Might give it a shot.
What do you guys like wrapping handles in? I was thinking leather, but I don't know if it would work on a curvy handle?
