I favor the open trade, because as it has been said enough times in the past, this trade typifies the best qualities of this community.

To that end, I am offering up some Black Hills Gold as a trade "sweetener".  One pint of raw, unfiltered honey from my beehives and a big lump of beeswax.  Just shoot me a p.m. telling me where to send it and when.

Oh boy!  I have experienced SD gold before.  That is some wonderful stuff.

I have 4 staves reduced down.  One is floor tillerred.  Although the one that is floor tillerred is plan d.

I just finished up night shifts this morning and start 12hr days tomorrow.  So I'm not going to get any staves dug out untill at least Thursday. On a side note I think I might get my brother talked into joining the trade also.

Rich, I'm all for getting some of the newer guys involved. That's what this one is all about.
What do you other guys think.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

turtle, we can wait until Thursday. I won't have the drawing until everyone has posted a pic of their stave or bow blank. Thursday is the 28th and we didn't plan on drawing until the 1st day of the month. That still gives us over 6 months to get our act together.

In the past, the trade has stood for inclusivity, with few exceptions.  You are the Trade Runner, your rules, though.

final profile on #1.

And...another osage I started just prior to joining trade so it is in the running also.

I made it to the MIL's garage and got these 2 out of the rafters. I had been saving them for something and not sure that one of them won't become #1 before its over.

Got this one down to 1 3/4 "wide and the tips narrowed down to 3/4" next up I'll taper the belly down until I get some bend going.  I have a knot on the side of the stave that I left wide in case it does something funny when I start reducing the belly.  The knot heads in towards the center of the stave at an angle.

I remembered I had a sweet set of vinemaple billets from Bryce Ott hidden inside. Been saving these for a special occasion. Will still dig some osage  out of my shed for backups when I get the chance.
