Modern art (?) pyramid bow
« on: December 06, 2015, 07:49:10 pm »
It's been so long since I have finished/posted a bow that I thought I'd get this one up on the forum despite the artwork making it questionably primitive. Due to work I just haven't had the time to do much bowyering and I have been disappointed with the couple I have tried. This bow took over four months to complete; half an hour here, half an hour there and now it's finally done.

The "Belly" of the bow is nice.

That's awesome! The tiller is great and I like the artwork. You're certainly not going to bump into someone at the range with the same bow as you.  8)

Tiller is good, and you have chosen a really good design for a hefty draw purpleheart.

I really like what you have done with the purpleheart/bocote combo. It suits the design and really lets the wood show it's natural beauty. Not sure about the artwork though. I can appreciate the time and effort you put into it, and I'm sure that wide expanse of rawhide was just begging to have something painted on it.

I  find it interesting as graphic design in a print or hanging on a wall, but a bit too busy and colourful for my personal taste on a bow. I'm sure many others will disagree and that is fine. I certainly commend you for doing something different to what everyone else is doing. Looking forward to see what you do with the next one.

Very nice hefty bow.Seems like finish work is something some people enjoy more than others.Unique.Like your choices of wood and your tiller looks spot on.

So, I like the art, but the tiller is what I think is the prettiest!
