Words of Wisdom/Warning for those new to wood bows
« on: November 17, 2015, 10:20:57 pm »
I'm making several Christmas bows for young kids. For 1st time, these kids are not close family members and do not live close by.
Would like to accompany the bows with written words of wisdom/warning re do's & don'ts.
Could use your inputs to help make this as complete as possible.
I plan to be as insistent as possible that kids' parents read these guidelines. I can be VERY insistent and follow-ups will be made.   >:D

Ya'lls help will be much appreciated!

If I make a bow for somebody in my family I tell them that the bow was made for them, not their friends or cousin or whoever.  It was made to fit them.  Don't let anyone else draw the bow back.  I give them a few other basic tips like:  Unstring it when  you are done shooting it, don't leave it in a hot car, don't leave it out in the rain, don't dry fire it.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Thanks, Del! Yours includes much of that well-known humor. Hope it's not copyrighted as I intend to filch some of the one-liners!
