Thanks fellas. It was kind of an onery thing[shedding string at 20",compression fractures].I'll explain how I fixed everything later after it's finished.Waiting on snake skins to dry after shooting it in right now.

Yep you know me well enough for that.Could of used old hedge too but had these laminations done already from my build-a-long post.I call it the conversion bow.Started out with too narrow of width I think.

No sinew? Everyone knows that a bow can't be made with just wood and horn.

Yep Pat M there is sinew there too.About an ounce per limb.Highly crowned.Out to about 8" from the tip.I've tillered a few bows with 6,7,8 inches of reflex but that's definitely different with the string riding on the belly of the recurve.

Thanks. It was a dry stave to begin with.Steamed the tips 45 minutes each.No steel bands or anything.A teenie bit of splintering which I just super glued back down. They sit 9/16" thick yet.Tried an even more aggressive bend too but that splintered more. This one I think is about 70 degrees of a bend.I could be wrong. The string lifts off from the static belly at about 22".Guys who make these type bows I'm sure know.
