Hickory, #49 @ 26
« on: August 08, 2015, 02:15:16 pm »
Hi everybody I just joined the other day and posted some arrows I just finished up for this bow. Any critiques or comments on the tiller, finish, etc... are welcome and much appreciated as I am only a novice bowyer at best :)

This bow is made of a hickory tree that I cut 8 months ago it is #49 @ 26in and shoots well even in the intense Florida humidity.
The top limb looks stiff in the outer 1/3rd but I think it may just be the contrast.
Whatever you are, be a good one.

The tiller looks pretty good in the full draw picture. Are the limbs the same length?

The tiller looks pretty darn good to me, looks like your gripping the bow quite low though?

Yes I am gripping it very low. When I was making the bow it just seemed like the limbs were more balanced at that point and it was also more comfortable to hold there, so I tried to tiller accordingly.

To answer Hrothgar's question, yes the limbs are the same length, I am just holding the bow very low so I think that causes the top limb to look longer
Whatever you are, be a good one.
