New project
« on: August 08, 2015, 12:34:51 pm »
My wife has been making paper mache figures for a few years now and selling them is a co-op gallery that she is a member of. Last year I began this project by forming this figure from 1" chicken wire. I got the shape down pretty good but just set it aside. Today I started adding the glue soaked paper. These figures take a while because you add the glue soaked paper then let it dry. Once it has dried you adjust the shape and add more paper. I will also use styra-foam to fill out areas as well. I'll post pics of my progress as I go along. So, what do you think so far?

In these last two pics you can see some of Marcia's paper mache "parts" to projects she's working on...

Thanks, Rich. That is sort of my shooting form. I may consider a NA when it gets to the bow, arrows and attire but I have to get the shape and paper covering perfected first. I'll make a wood bow and maybe cane arrows for him and buckskins would be cool. I will keep posting my progress.

I thought of your archery figures when I started this, Del. Maybe this will turn out as well as yours.

It takes an archer to get the balance and feel right... There are loads of art deco archery sculptures that are just nonsense. I've seen 'em in stately homes where the bow was free to rotate nd of course it was fitted the wrong way round. Try to tell 'em and get met with blank stares ::)

Impressive talents!  Looking forward to updates.
