Polished Celt
« on: July 31, 2015, 02:38:55 pm »
I thought I would do something a little different I made a greenstone celt. The celt was pecked, ground, polished and the bit was sharpend with a piece of sandstone. The length of the celt is five and a half inches and the width at the bit is two and a half inches. After I made the celt I made a handle from white oak.

Cool looking Celt. I hope you made something with that tree. You should never kill a poor tree unless you are going to use it or eat it. That is not Ethical chopping.

I polished it with fine sand and water on a big flat piece of sandstone.

Nice piece of pecking around!

This must be a typo--
"The length of the celt is five and a half inches and
the width at the bit is seven and a half inches."
No matter the pics look great. Nice work.
