Last year my dad was out in Montana and he carried a big canfof bear spray with him.  One morning he was in a hurry, hopped in his brand new truck and threw his bag in the back seat setting off his can of bear spray.  He said it fogged up his truck so quick he thought Seal Team 6 was making entry. He proceeded to stumble out of his truck, peeling off his clothes on front of all his neighbors because he said his skin was on fire. He was clawing at his watering eyes and managed to find his way to a shower.  He said he couldn't get into his truck for a week. Oh how I wish I could have been there to see that!

No need to here is south central kansas but if I lived in an area that had apex predators I would be carrying something.

In response to the dogs, I would have definitley arrowed as many as I could. They probabley would have turned their attention to the injured ones as dinner.
