sidewinder buildalong
« on: February 11, 2015, 03:28:02 pm »
I would like to propose a thread where all of us who scored on the Sidewinder osage lottery share the work we do with those staves.  I think Danny would enjoy seeing the fruits of his generosity, and I think it would be fun to see what everyone can make out of them.  My stave should arrive later this week, and I can't wait to get started.

I had the thought of posting the finished bows from his stash in one thread, but buildalongs would be cool too!

Sure thing, I must warn all of you though, I dont have much time so my bow manufacturing is at a snails pace. XD

I'm in! This should be a lot of fun seeing so many bows coming from different skill levels and styles.

I am happy to see the response.  For the real experts, it will be a chance to share the process a little, and for those of us who are less than expert, it will be a chance to learn together.

Great idea!  I'm in the same boat as dueb, though.  I make my bows working on them a few hours at a time and I'm lucky to have one done within a month.

I think that's a great idea.  I must admit though, my wife and I just bought some land that we're trying to put a house and shop/garage on this spring/summer.  My workshop consists of some clamps, the tailgate of my truck, and various hand tools right now ::).  Plus, as I admitted to Danny, I'm relatively new to bows (staves in particular).  You can bet though, once I'm ready I'll be looking for advice and posting pics.
